Rochelle Campbell is an accomplished leader, board recruiter, board member, thought leader, columnist, and speaker, focusing on board composition and succession, governance, policy, board diversity, and coaching. She is the CEO and Managing Member of Leadership Elevated, a board recruitment and governance consultancy supporting corporations and board candidates on their way to the boardroom. She serves as Chair of the Program Committee on the board of the Private Directors Association (PDA), DC Metro Chapter, as Vice Chair of the PDA National Board of Directors Opportunity Committee, and formerly on the Cybersecurity Committee. She is an advisory board member with Athena Alliance and is chair of the Nom/Gov committee with Civics and Service International.
In her previous role, she led a tech start-up supporting and coaching women C-suite leaders in technology, data, and AI. Before that, she spent almost a decade with NACD where she held multiple leadership roles, including as Director, Board Services. There, she led the NACD Board Advisory and Board Recruitment practices. She worked successfully with companies of all types and sizes, customizing, developing, and delivering in-boardroom education, coaching, and evaluation services. Leading the NACD Board Recruitment practice, she doubled revenues in only a few years and placed directors on boards ranging from the F500 to large family-owned businesses, private, and nonprofit organizations, across industries. She continues to boast an industry-leading 85% diverse board candidate placement rate.
Rochelle is a sought-after speaker and writer, frequently contributing on topics including board composition, governance, and board recruitment-related topics. She was a columnist for NACD Directorship magazine for years. She has advised thousands of directors on board composition, dynamics, and governance, and coaches aspiring board members. She has also supported over 700 military flag and general officers (1-4 stars), to successfully transition their military experience into the private sector.
Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade in public relations and engaged audiences with hundreds of motivational presentations, and helped local communities engage in volunteer projects.
Rochelle holds an MS from George Mason University in Peace Operations and a BS from the University of Utah, and is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. She resides in the DC area, loves running and all things outdoors, and spends her free time volunteering for a variety of nonprofits.
