I am the Founder and CEO of GEC Risk Advisory – a global advisory firm that helps organizations navigate complex, interconnected governance, risk, ethics, and tech challenges and future-proof themselves to be sustainable and resilient in turbulent times.
With over 35 years of experience in leadership roles across different sectors globally, including as a multiple times corporate c-suite member, I am a recognized practitioner, board member, thought leader, author, and speaker. I hold several credentials and honors, including the 2023 Diligent Modern Governance 100, 2022 NACD Directorship 100, a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and one of the most influential people in business ethics by Ethisphere.
I serve as a faculty member, board member, and advisor for various prestigious institutions and initiatives that share this vision, such as the Institute for Corporate Directors Malaysia, NYU, the Athena Alliance, and the Cyber Future Foundation.
I am a multiple book author – my next one is called “Governing Pandora: Leading in the Age of Generative AI and Exponential Technology” to be published 2025 by Georgetown University Press in late 2025.
Previous books include “Gloom to Boom: How Leaders Transform Risk into Resilience and Value” for Routledge (2020); “The Artificial IntelligenceI Imperative: A Roadmap for Business” for ABC Clio (2018); and “The Reputation Risk Handbook: Surviving and Thriving in the Age of Hyper-Transparency” for Routledge (2014).
I was born and raised in Germany and Spain, graduated high school in Malaga, Spain, speak several languages and received a joint JD in Law and PhD in Political Science from Columbia University.
