Lilia Shirman

Course Leader – Become an Investor

Lilia Shirman is an experienced investor, tech industry executive, and outspoken thought leader. She is currently Founder and Managing Director at Falcon Peak Capital, which provides investors access to fast-growth enterprise technology companies. She is also Venture Partner at West Coast Equity Partners, a growth equity firm focused on late-stage tech companies that are transforming markets, lives, and the world. Lilia has raised two venture funds, and her investments include SpaceX, Anthropic, Lambda, Socure, 6Sense and dozens of other innovators.  Lilia is also an active angel investor and has served on the leadership team of Golden Seeds, one of the most active angel investor networks in the US.  She has taught entrepreneurs at the Center for Business Innovation at Chalmers University, and coached at the Stanford Global Entrepreneurial Marketing course.

Previously, Lilia was CEO at The Shirman Group, a strategy advisory that has shaped revenue growth strategies for industry leaders including VMware, EMC, Amazon, and Oracle as well as for many growth-stage companies. Lilia has also served as an operational leader in sales, marketing, strategic alliances, solutions development, strategy formulation, manufacturing operations, and supplier management. As turn-around CMO at MariaDB, she helped transform the open-source database company’s business model and revenue generation capabilities.

Lilia wrote the book 42 Rules for Growing Entreprise Revenue to help technology companies become more relevant and valuable to their customers. She earned a BS in engineering from UC Berkeley, and an MS in Management Science from Stanford University, where she was an Honors Cooperative Fellow.
