The Life Science industry (consisting of biotech, pharma, med tech, devices, diagnostics and their collaborators) shares many attributes of other industries, but with very long product life cycles and time to revenue, and a highly regulated environment, several things make this industry unique in the challenges faced by its executives and Boards. This peer group seeks to learn from each other in both the commonalities and the nuanced uniqueness.

She has a strong preference for small and emerging companies where she can have a real impact on corporate strategy and external narrative, decision making processes to drive internal clarity and effectiveness, and in setting a work culture which is engaged, empowered, and inclusive. She helps companies scale in a stage appropriate manner focusing on best strategies for value creation. She holds an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. She has been a member of Athena since 2018, been selected for the 2019 Women in Bio Boardroom Ready cohort, and participated in Harvard’s executive education for Women on Life Science Boards.

Just when we thought that the pandemic and climate change were the drivers of the “complex interconnected risk” Andrea talked about last year, this year what was Megatrend #3 becomes Megatrend #2— Climate and War Propelling Complex Risk—as a major war (Russia’s invasion of Ukraine) enters the world of interconnected complex risk. This war has given rise to (and/or exacerbated) a series of societal (humanitarian, mental health, food security) and technological (cyber and disinformation warfare) consequences - foreseen and unforeseen - that have propelled complex interconnected risk to new heights this year. Join Andrea as she dissects some of these large strategic risks and translates them into decision-maker to do’s for the coming year
