About this event

Clearly, women have earned the title “Ms. Independent,” as even those in relationships take on more financial responsibility than their partners. More than half have primary responsibility for household finances (59%) and investments (51%), while nearly half (48%) manage retirement planning for themselves and their partner. On average, women who share money management duties with their partner take more than half of the responsibility for household finances (55% of the work), investments (54%), and retirement planning (55%)." - HerMoney

This Salon with guest speaker Jackie Prideaux and Host Tama Smith, Athena Advisor and Category Steward of "Women & Wealth" learning at Athena, who will help us think through and understand a variety of saving mechanisms from retirement, to school and more.

Jackie Prideaux Lead Advisor

The search for happiness, fulfillment, and financial freedom is a noble—and sometimes daunting—pursuit. As an advisor at Brighton Jones, my utmost goal is to help our clients define what living a richer life means to them and, in turn, provide the creativity and execution to get there.

I believe strongly in fulfilling our role as a fiduciary and am also proud that our work goes beyond the numbers. By taking time to thoroughly get to know clients and understand both their hopes and fears, we strive to build strong, trusting relationships. Those relationships are the best parts of my job. I love what I do, who I do it with, and the clients for whom I do it.

When I’m not roaming the halls of Brighton Jones, I enjoy spending time with my husband Clinton and our fur-baby mutt Bucket, being of service to others, and traveling near and far. I’ve enjoyed learning how to play tennis in recent summers, and in the winters you’ll find us on the ski slopes—unless, of course, it interferes with watching the Green Bay Packers.

Prior to working at Brighton Jones, I spent two years in Senegal, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer. That experience solidified my love of travel, culture, and giving back. I hope to continue to weave volunteering into my life and cross things off of my travel bucket list in the years to come.
