Coco Brown CEO

Coco is founder and CEO of Athena Alliance. Prior to her current roles, Coco served as President, COO, and Board Director of Taos, a market leader in IT Services serving hundreds of F1000 companies, including Apple, Cisco, ebay, Facebook, and Silicon Valley Bank. Coco brings rich experience across F1000 companies, start-ups, and nonprofits in the roles of CEO, COO, advisor, and Board member to Athena. She possesses a unique understanding of the breadth of challenges and opportunities of leadership. She empowers leaders to execute successfully, working with them to develop the relationship between a company’s strategy and its organizational design and environment. Coco’s expertise in developing and strengthening these important linkages makes her a powerful C-level advisor and Board member. In addition to serving on the Board of Taos from 2004 to 2014, Coco served as a Board Director for MentorNet during its rebranding, product transformation, and subsequent acquisition by Great Minds in STEM. Coco was on the finance committee supporting the Board of Directors of Samasource and established the Operating Committee for the Silicon Valley arm of Golden Seeds, a New York-based early-stage investment firm. She also currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Anita Borg Technology Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards honoring women in technology.


Barbara Nelson Independent Board Director

Barbara is a global technology executive, board member and advisor who has led strategy and technology transformations in a broad range of industries and go-to-market models, from enterprise to consumer. She has led global P&Ls as large as $3 billion, served as CEO for two private companies and operated organizations over 1700 people. Barbara brings over 15 years of general management and P&L experience, where she consistently captured new markets, created new categories and delivered market leadership in a wide range of high-tech industries: cybersecurity, cloud services, software, mobile, data management, IT infrastructure, storage and semi-conductors. She has navigated through complex strategic challenges and entered new, high-growth areas, organically and inorganically, while mitigating security, privacy and brand risks. Barbara very recently led Western Digital Corp.’s consumer cloud software and services, evolving a high-volume hardware business into one offering enhanced experiences in software. She also led strategy for the $3B+ consumer business at Western Digital Corp. At Imation and NeoScale Systems, she enabled digital transformations in enterprise data security solutions with G500 customers and government agencies. She executed a complex ERP consolidation while EVP of strategy, marketing and IT at Quantum. In addition to regularly presenting at Imation and Quantum Board meetings, Barbara has served as director and advisor for multiple private companies and non-profit organizations. She played a key role as part of the Quantum executive team that launched a tracking stock on the NYSE.
