Many women are “on” from the time they wake up until the time they crawl back into bed, usually, after everyone else is fast asleep. Whether in the office or WFH, we’re often in back-to-back meetings all day, have to shift our focus to caring for loved ones or meeting other personal commitments, and then do more work rather than taking time to depressurize at the end of the day. When we do take moments to rest, our bodies might be still, but our minds are busy at work, thinking about all the things we “should” be doing instead of “sitting around.” But resting is critical for our success and we need to learn how to do it well.
Dr. Julianna Hynes is, among other things, an executive coach, wife, mother, and community volunteer. From her own experiences of overwhelm and health challenges she's faced as a result, she's learned strategies to prevent burnout. She's been coaching her clients on doing the same.
