Coco is founder and CEO of Athena Alliance. Prior to her current roles, Coco served as President, COO, and Board Director of Taos, a market leader in IT Services serving hundreds of F1000 companies, including Apple, Cisco, ebay, Facebook, and Silicon Valley Bank. Coco brings rich experience across F1000 companies, start-ups, and nonprofits in the roles of CEO, COO, advisor, and Board member to Athena. She possesses a unique understanding of the breadth of challenges and opportunities of leadership. She empowers leaders to execute successfully, working with them to develop the relationship between a company’s strategy and its organizational design and environment. Coco’s expertise in developing and strengthening these important linkages makes her a powerful C-level advisor and Board member. In addition to serving on the Board of Taos from 2004 to 2014, Coco served as a Board Director for MentorNet during its rebranding, product transformation, and subsequent acquisition by Great Minds in STEM. Coco was on the finance committee supporting the Board of Directors of Samasource and established the Operating Committee for the Silicon Valley arm of Golden Seeds, a New York-based early-stage investment firm. She also currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Anita Borg Technology Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards honoring women in technology.
Jennifer leads the West Division for UBS Wealth Management, including over 3,000 employees and $2.5 billion in revenues. She is a member of the management (executive) committee for Wealth Management Americas. UBS is the preeminent global wealth manager in the world, helping affluent families plan, preserve and express their values & purpose through wealth decisions. In addition, Jennifer is an Advisory Board member for UBS’s women’s network after helping to build the 25 chapters in the U.S. Prior to UBS, Jennifer was Head of the Executive Client Relationship Group leading private wealth management services for ultra-high net worth clients with Merrill Lynch and US Trust. Prior to that role, Jennifer led Merrill Lynch’s Pacific Northwest Region from San Francisco, overseeing 43 branch offices, 800 Advisors and over $150 Billion in client assets. She also led Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking (private wealth) group in New York, which included the firm’s wealthiest clients and private wealth advisor teams who serve them. Jennifer was voted unanimously as an Exceptional Women Awardee for 2020. Jennifer received the “Most Powerful & Influential Woman” award from the National Diversity Council. Jennifer is certified by American Board Architects (ABA) for Board service. Jennifer serves on the Board of GigX, a private company for C-suite fractional leadership service through technology. Orange County Business Journal named her one of the region’s “Woman of the Year” honorees. San Francisco Business Times named Jennifer one of Bay Area’s “Forever Influential Women in Business” 2015-2019. In 2005 she was named New York Crain’s “Top 40 under 40 Executives”. In 2014, Jennifer earned her MBA with Honors from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and received their Distinguished Leadership Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois. Jennifer is an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), serving on the Board in Southern California for 3 years and a member in Northern California. She recently joined C200, an invite-only group of women CEOs who lead businesses over $250 Million in revenues. Jennifer adores her husband, their two children and prioritizes family, faith and impact.
Carey Shuffman is the Head of the Women's Strategic Client Segment, a role she's held for three years. She is responsible for the development and implementation of UBS's strategy to address the unique financial needs of women, with a focus on financial education and research, client engagement and creative content. Carey also works closely with Field Leadership and Financial Advisors across the country to promote these efforts and support Advisors in working with female clients and prospective clients. As a subject matter expert on the topic of women and wealth, Carey travels the country speaking at seminars and events and also conducts virtual engagements. She has been a regular contributor to print and television media, including Barron's, Yahoo Finance, BOLD TV, the Chicago Tribune, Kiplinger and more. She also speaks at large-scale conferences and corporate organizations on women's financial empowerment and financial well-being, and has spoken to audiences at Google, the National Football League (NFL), The Female Quotient and more. Carey has been with UBS for 9 years and previously held a number of strategic roles across the firm, including the Sales Strategy Team and Wealth Management Transformation, where she focused on building out the firm's holistic wealth management and financial planning services. Carey first joined UBS as an analyst in the Graduate Talent Program (GTP), and she is also a past recipient of the UBS Global Employee Volunteer Award for her work in the local community. Carey received her BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and holds her Series 7 and 66 licenses. She currently resides in New York City.
