Daina Middleton Independent Director

Daina is a director and advisor, life-long marketer with expertise in category creation and positioning technology and services organizations for rapid growth. Daina has rapidly grown businesses in highly competitive complex environments that demand continuous evolution and innovation. She has nearly a decade of experience as a director in public, private, PE and VC-backed companies. Her unique background of operational and leadership coaching experience guides her advisory skills in building and managing global teams, establishing new categories, pioneering digital mediums, nurturing company cultures, and delivering results across complex, highly-matrixed organizations.

She sits on the public boards of Marin Software (MRIN), serving on the audit/finance and nominating/compensation committees; and newly formed company BIGtoken, a subsidiary of SRAX. She is an Independent Director at PE-backed Madison Logic, and an Advisor for early stage startups: MarketBeam, AdFontes Media and Seed and Spark.

Daina’s career began at HP where she held roles in nearly every marketing function. She went on to lead Innovation and Analytics for Moxie, pioneering the paid social media practice and building out a global client analytics platform. As CEO of Performics, she created the performance marketing category, growing revenues from $14-$150 million in just 4 years. At Twitter, Daina managed B2B Marketing establishing the global sales marketing team which resulted in a 40% growth in revenue. As a leadership consultant for Gryphon Investors, she coached executives in 14 portfolio companies. As CEO of PE-backed Ansira, a firm that provides technology and services for brands that market through intermediaries, Daina streamlined the company and guided it to an established market leadership position. As CEO of Britelite Immersive, she led the merger of two companies and software platforms positioning the company as the experience management category negotiating a successful sale.

Daina is a well-known industry thought leader speaking and teaching about topics ranging from digital marketing, gender leadership, company cultures, and building rapport in the workplace. She is well-suited to public or private boards seeking strategic thinking, establishing thriving cultures, and rapidly scaling operations.

Daina earned a Bachelor of Arts from Oregon State University. She is a member of OSU’s School of Arts & Communication Advisory Council. She is a published author of two books: Marketing in the Participation Age; 2012; and Grace Meets Grit: 2016.

She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including 2019 Direct Marketing News Hall of Femme, Dallas Shining Star, American Advertising Association, 2013 Gold Stevie International Female Executive of the Year. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, wildlife photography, riding horses and fly fishing.


Coco Brown CEO

Coco is founder and CEO of Athena Alliance. Prior to her current roles, Coco served as President, COO, and Board Director of Taos, a market leader in IT Services serving hundreds of F1000 companies, including Apple, Cisco, ebay, Facebook, and Silicon Valley Bank. Coco brings rich experience across F1000 companies, start-ups, and nonprofits in the roles of CEO, COO, advisor, and Board member to Athena. She possesses a unique understanding of the breadth of challenges and opportunities of leadership. She empowers leaders to execute successfully, working with them to develop the relationship between a company’s strategy and its organizational design and environment. Coco’s expertise in developing and strengthening these important linkages makes her a powerful C-level advisor and Board member. In addition to serving on the Board of Taos from 2004 to 2014, Coco served as a Board Director for MentorNet during its rebranding, product transformation, and subsequent acquisition by Great Minds in STEM. Coco was on the finance committee supporting the Board of Directors of Samasource and established the Operating Committee for the Silicon Valley arm of Golden Seeds, a New York-based early-stage investment firm. She also currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Anita Borg Technology Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards honoring women in technology.
