Nadia Hansen (CIO for Clark County in Las Vegas, NV) will guide Athena members in a discussion around becoming an agent of change in the public sector. Nadia has more than 20 years of experience leading and developing technology functions in startups and the public sector. She will explain how to invest in people to build future talent pipelines, how to maintain an entrepreneurial mindset in an environment strife with roadblocks, and how to create public-private partnerships to accelerate innovation.

Coco is founder and CEO of Athena Alliance. Prior to her current roles, Coco served as President, COO, and Board Director of Taos, a market leader in IT Services serving hundreds of F1000 companies, including Apple, Cisco, ebay, Facebook, and Silicon Valley Bank. Coco brings rich experience across F1000 companies, start-ups, and nonprofits in the roles of CEO, COO, advisor, and Board member to Athena. She possesses a unique understanding of the breadth of challenges and opportunities of leadership. She empowers leaders to execute successfully, working with them to develop the relationship between a company’s strategy and its organizational design and environment. Coco’s expertise in developing and strengthening these important linkages makes her a powerful C-level advisor and Board member. In addition to serving on the Board of Taos from 2004 to 2014, Coco served as a Board Director for MentorNet during its rebranding, product transformation, and subsequent acquisition by Great Minds in STEM. Coco was on the finance committee supporting the Board of Directors of Samasource and established the Operating Committee for the Silicon Valley arm of Golden Seeds, a New York-based early-stage investment firm. She also currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Anita Borg Technology Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards honoring women in technology.

Nadia Hansen is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Clark County, in Las Vegas NV. Clark County is an $8 billion public enterprise, the nation’s 11th-largest county providing extensive regional services to more than 2.3 million citizens and more than 45.6 million visitors a year, including McCarran International Airport, the nation’s 9th-busiest, and University Medical Center, the state’s largest public hospital. As the leader of the IT function at Clark County, Nadia is responsible for delivering all information technology to 10,000 employees across 140+ locations in Southern Nevada. Nadia has more than 20 years of experience leading and developing technology functions for large organizations and startups. Nadia serves as an advisory board member for several gov tech organizations. Nadia ensures that the IT organization is "reimagining citizen services" - by leading the way in platforms, cloud supported applications, digitizing business services, and data analytics. Prior to her current role, Nadia has held many leadership and technology roles across casino gaming, IT consulting, and business intelligence verticals. Nadia earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and pursuing an Executive MBA from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson.
