Yet women are successfully navigating these challenges and thriving every day. In this inspirational and educational session, Dr. Yasmin Davidds—CEO of the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Foundation, founder of the Women’s Institute of Negotiation, and board director of the Athena Rising Foundation—will share examples to inspire rising multicultural leaders in their journey into the C-suite and beyond.
Coco is founder and CEO of Athena Alliance. Prior to her current roles, Coco served as President, COO, and Board Director of Taos, a market leader in IT Services serving hundreds of F1000 companies, including Apple, Cisco, ebay, Facebook, and Silicon Valley Bank. Coco brings rich experience across F1000 companies, start-ups, and nonprofits in the roles of CEO, COO, advisor, and Board member to Athena. She possesses a unique understanding of the breadth of challenges and opportunities of leadership. She empowers leaders to execute successfully, working with them to develop the relationship between a company’s strategy and its organizational design and environment. Coco’s expertise in developing and strengthening these important linkages makes her a powerful C-level advisor and Board member. In addition to serving on the Board of Taos from 2004 to 2014, Coco served as a Board Director for MentorNet during its rebranding, product transformation, and subsequent acquisition by Great Minds in STEM. Coco was on the finance committee supporting the Board of Directors of Samasource and established the Operating Committee for the Silicon Valley arm of Golden Seeds, a New York-based early-stage investment firm. She also currently serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Anita Borg Technology Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious awards honoring women in technology.
Dr. Yasmin Davidds is an entrepreneur, organizational psychologist and CEO of the Dr. Yasmin Davidds Leadership Institute, the Multicultural Women Multicultural Women Leadership & Entrepreneur Institute, and the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Foundation, organizations dedicated to the teaching, instruction and development of leadership and entrepreneur competencies primarily focused on women. Dr. Davidds’ commitment to the empowerment and development of all women leaders has brought her recognition and acclaim from the U.S. Congress, the California State Senate and the California State Assembly. She has been recognized and highlighted as one of the top Leading Latinas by Hispanic Magazine and as one of the most influential Latinas in “The Book of Latina Women.” As one of the top leading female negotiation experts in the U.S. and Latin America, Dr. Davidds hastrained and consulted thousands of corporate leadersin over 200 blue chip companiesthroughout 22 countries in the art and skill of negotiation. Her clients have ranged from senior judges to tribal leaders, from unionized prison guards to accountants, and from public officials to diplomatic trainees. Her practical experience includes a wide range of public and private sector effortsinBrazil, Columbia, Argentina, England, France, Spain, South Africa and the U.S. She has helped lead intervention and assistance programs to disputing parties and has advised corporate, non-profit and governmental teams on how to prepare for important negotiations. Dr. Davidds fourth best-selling book, YOUR OWN TERMS: A Women’s Guide to Taking Charge Of Any Negotiation is the core curriculum for the University of California San Diego’s Rady School of Management Executive Education Women’s Leadership and Negotiation Certificate Program. Dr. Davidds Executive, Entrepreneur and Millennial programs have impacted and transformed the lives and careers of thousands of professional and entrepreneur women worldwide. A graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in business entrepreneurship, Dr. Davidds went on to receive her master’s degree in women studies and her doctorate degree in organizational psychology. In 2013,she developed and launched the first Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program in partnership with the USC Marshall School of Business.
