Melanie Naranjo is the VP of People at Ethena, a modern compliance training provider for today’s teams. With 8 years of experience in the HR and People space, she’s been interviewed by HR Brew, FastCompany, TroopHR, and more for her unique insights. A resident of New Jersey, when she is not working with People, she is recharging by either baking something sweet or taking one of her dogs (or cats) for a walk.
Roxanne Petraeus is the CEO and co-founder of Ethena, a modern compliance training platform focused on making training more engaging and effective. She is a United States Army combat veteran, McKinsey consultant, and Rhodes Scholar, and holds degrees from Harvard College and Oxford University.
Dumebi Egbuna is Co-founder and CMO of Chezie, a management platform for employee resource groups. Chezie has a mission of creating the most inclusive workplaces on Earth.
Upon graduation, Dumebi began working for IBM and it was at the company that she found her passion for helping minorities succeed in the spaces that have previously not been accessible to them, like higher education and corporate America. She knows what it's like to be the only Black woman at the table, and has dedicated herself to helping people with similar backgrounds break through the glass ceilings and excel in their chosen fields.
Dumebi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina after her family immigrated to the United States. She attended Emory University where she played basketball and majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Strategic Consulting.
Joseph is a co-founder and CEO at eqtble. Prior to eqtble, he garnered extensive experience in the field of analytics. Most recently, as the head of HR Technology at Snap, he implemented best practices for systems architecture and built the foundation and strategy for HR analytics. While leading WeWork’s People Analytics team, he built out the team to support over 15,000 employees and help improve employee engagement and satisfaction. During his time at Toys R Us and Arsenal FC as a Data Scientist, he built optimization models that saved both companies millions over several years.
As a leader in the analytics field, Joseph has also spoken at multiple analytics conferences around the country and is actively sought after for his expertise & insights.
Erin is a serial entrepreneur with over a decade of success and experience as a Silicon Valley startup executive, investor, advisor and innovator. She has led innovative tech companies from market entrance to success across workforce, healthcare, big data, and fintech industries.
Erin is Operating Partner at PeopleTech Partners (PTP), where she focuses on the expansion and acceleration of the PTP ecosystem and Growth Program accelerator for innovations in people technology, and drives platform impact for employers, employees and entrepreneurs at SemperVirens Venture Capital.

We have an incredible community of female leaders at Athena and we want to bring you closer together! Join a Peer Group and build a network of peers you can engage with for guidance, lessons learned and insights around a shared interest. Choose a topic that most interests you or drop in and out of multiple peer groups as it suits you best. You’ll find at least one peer group available to join every week. Each live session goes for one hour, no preparation is needed, just show up as you are. We look forward to seeing you there!
A Learning Circle is an opportunity to connect with a small group of other Athena members in a focused yet casual setting, creating accountability around targeted learning to assist you in achieving your goals. Over the course of 6 sessions, club members will meet every 2 weeks to participate in an organic, peer-led discussion of the session's "chapters" consisting of 1-2 Athena salons which are to be reviewed on your own prior to the group session. When joining, members are committing to completing all 6 sessions.
Typically led by one of Athena's coaches, networking events provide members an opportunity to meet one another in a smaller intimate and virtual setting.
These are typically in-person events led by Coco and our partnering companies on topics that are relevant to the industry and audience of our business partners.
A workshop is an interactive session for members to actively practice something, such as their pitch. These sessions typically involve breakout rooms, member to member feedback and are not recorded.
For members new to Athena looking for ways to engage, these bi-weekly orientations led by an Athena Member Success Manager, provide a live tour of Athena, member success insights, and a chance to get questions answered.
