It’s hard to know how well you’re doing in a role without some feedback on your performance. Board members are no different — they work in an increasingly complex role requiring a breadth of knowledge and experience on a wide array of topics. Conducting regular performance assessments can help directors perform better, feel more confident in their work, and lead to overall improvement for the full board. So why is board assessment so unpopular? This session will explore the ins and outs of board assessment — what types boards use, why assessment is so important, and how to help boards get more comfortable with the process.
